As the lake was 100% free of snow and ice, we had to cross the glacier in the area of the tongue. This was easily doable via a bridge. To the right of the person, a black area can be seen. This is the Randkluft, which can be seen in the next photo.

The level of the northern glacial lake is 1-2m higher than that of the southern glacial lake. The northern lake is currently drained into the southern lake via a channel under the glacier.
