Before/after comparison of Rothorn Glacier (Zermatt, Valais Alps)

The Rothorn Glacier (Rothorngletscher) lies on the southern flank of the ridge from Zinalrothorn (4221m) to Ober Äschhorn (3668m) at an altitude of 3200 -3600m.ü.M. It is slightly inclined to the south and surrounded on the valley side by rock slabs (glacier cut). To the west of the glacier lies the Rothorn Hut SAC (3197m), which serves as a starting point for climbing the four-thousand-metre peaks Zinalrothorn (4421m) and Ober Gabelhorn (4063m).
