This interactive 360° drone panorama photo shows the debris-covered ice flow of the Unteraar glacier. The debris has an insulating effect, but cannot prevent the glacier from melting. In the part of the ice flow on the left in the direction of view, the meltwater has eaten deep meltwater channels into the ice. The side walls of the meltwater channels are exposed to the warm air, which accelerates the melting of the glacier.
