Description:View from SW over the Kanderfin in its whole length. Still an imposing and fascinating sight, even if a lot of ice has melted in the last decades.
On the left, at the foot of the south faces of Fründenhorn (3368m), Oeschinenhorn (3485m), Blüemisalphorn (3660m) and Wyssi Frau (3647m), the depris-covered part of Kanderfin can be seen. In the rock walls, as a result of erosion, smaller and larger pieces of rock detach themselves and fall onto the glacier. This is how a so-called upper moraine is formed. As long as the ice of a glacier is flowing, the rock pieces are transported downhill by the glacier.
