Lauterbrunnen Breithorn and Wetterlücken glacier (aerial view).
Photo time: 20.09.2018
Description:
The panorama photo shows how narrow the transition from the middle to the lowest part of the glacier tongue is. As the temperature increases, it is only a matter of time before the lowest part of the tongue will lose contact with the glacier and melt away. To the right of the tongue is the striking yellowish band (probably retidolomite), which can also be seen further down at the small glacial lake. Further to the right the rock shows interesting stratifications.
