The part of the forefield visible towards the glacier was covered by ice until about 2004. It is easy to see that the first pioneer plants have settled here. More towards the Steisee than towards the glacier, e.g. the saxifrage (Saxifraga aizoides), Fleischers willowherb (Epilobium fleischeri), various grasses, various moss species.
